SOUTH JORDAN, Utah — After working hard at a school fundraiser, a South Jordan Elementary School student ended up coming home with a very adult game.
“I thought it was a bucket of slime,” the boy told KSL TV. But when he took it home to show his parents, they quickly found out that the “The Bucket of Doom” wasn’t just a smelly slimy bucket of goo.
The game’s website says Bucket of Doom is a game intended for players over the age of 17. Players come up with creative and death-defying escapes from wild scenarios.
“Ever wondered how you’d escape if you were left behind on the moon with nothing more than a foot-long hotdog and an angry beaver to help?” they write.
“Well, we have and we’ve turned it into a pretty dark adult party game. Escape from tons of seriously bad situations with the help of hundreds of seriously useless objects.”
Eric Lewis said he didn’t think twice when his sons returned home from school with their fundraising prizes, but when the family opened it to play, he was shocked at what he found.
“I myself looked at the cards and thought ‘Are you kidding me!?” Eric said.
“It was shocking,” said mom, Megan Lewis. “It was about body parts, killing themselves, like pouring gasoline on your head and lighting themselves on fire.”
The Lewis’ say they don’t want to point fingers but that they are disappointed that their kids could have brought something so inappropriate home. They said that their son will be able to choose another prize at school.
The Jordan School District told KSL TV that administrators are taking this very seriously. The principal is investigating how this game ended up as one of the prizes.
