KEARNS, Utah — Due to police activity near West Kearns Elementary, law enforcement placed the school on a shelter in place protocol shortly around 11 am on Tuesday.
Granite School District says there is no direct threat to students and is a strictly precautionary measure and the protocol was lifted shortly before noon.
The district said that during this shelter in place school proceeded as normal inside the building but they did not allow on any visitors on campus until the protocol was lifted by police.
