SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah — Groundbreaking for the Saratoga Springs temple is set for Saturday, October 19, according to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The temple was announced in April of 2017 by the church president at the time, Thomas S. Monson, and the site was revealed in May of this year.

The three-story, 87,000 square-foot temple will be built in the Beacon Pointe subdivision west of Redwood Road.

Utah currently has 17 operating temples in Utah with 5 more announced, the latest came this during the faith’s 189th semiannual conference.

It will be the 18th Latter-day Saint temple in Utah and the fifth in Utah County, following the Provo Temple, the Mount Timpanogos Temple, the Payson Temple, and the Provo City Center Temple.

The church says that attendance at the site is by invitation only, but those interested in viewing the groundbreaking can do so in local meetinghouses around the area.
