The Utah Jazz tip-off against the Oklahoma City Thunder Wednesday night at seven at Vivint Smart Home Arena, their first home game of the 2019-2020 season.

They lost most of their games in the pre-season, but guard Donovan Mitchell told KSL TV’s Jeremiah Jensen that fans should not be concerned.

“We have a really talented squad. Obviously going 1 and 4 in the pre-season may look be scary, but for us, we have so many things we can build on and correct,” said Mitchell.

“I think it’s good you guys are seeing some adversity,” said Jensen. “I do too,” responded Mitchell. “I think better now than in April. I think it just shows us we have work to do.”

The expectations are high after a summer of big moves. Coach Quin Snyder and forward Joe Ingles both signed contract extensions recently. Snyder told the media that the team has a group of veteran, talented players now.

Another note — if you are going to a game, Vivint Arena is becoming cash-free. Only credit cards or mobile payment methods can be used for most concessions and restaurants.

Ahead of the tip-off, Jeff Caplan’s Afternoon News will be broadcasting live, just outside Vivint Arena, from 3-7 pm. And KSLSports.com will have music, prizes and free pizza starting at 5:30.
