SALT LAKE CITY — Authorities say a truck driver may have experienced a medical problem before he was killed in a fiery crash on Interstate 84 in northern Utah.

The Utah Highway Patrol identified the driver killed late Monday in Morgan County as 59-year-old Jimmie Grundie of Brigham City. The Highway Patrol said Grundie’s big rig was traveling eastbound near Peterson when it left a traffic lane and veered to the right before striking a concrete barrier and rolling on one side.

The truck and trailer then slid down the highway as sparks and heat ignited fuel and set vehicle on fire, engulfing it in flames. The truck was carrying food products. Cause of the crash is under investigation.
