Utah school report cards released, without letter grades

You can now see how your public school is performing. The school accountability dashboard went live Thursday morning.

But there is a change this year, after all the end-of-year test glitches from last Spring.

Just as a student’s report card shows how they are doing, this school report card shows how the school is performing in multiple areas.

State law says it needs to come with a letter grade. But this year the state says since the RISE tests had too many problems the letter grades may be coming later, or not at all.

For now, you can go to the state-wide dashboard, look up your public school, and see the measurements in these four areas: growth, achievement, post-secondary readiness, and English learner progress.

There’s a scale for each area that looks like a fuel gauge, pointing to critical needs, developing, typical, commendable, or exemplary.
