Volunteers of America Utah helps vulnerable people who are struggling with homelessness, mental illness, or addition. They are taking steps forward to break down barriers and guide those in need on a journey of self-reliance.

Their programs include homeless services, shelter and resource centers, addiction facilities, counseling, housing, and supportive services to facilitate life-long well-being and self-sufficiency. Last year they opened Maud’s Café, a job training program for youth exiting homelessness. It’s located next door to the Youth Resource Center and has been a gathering place for the community.

Volunteers of America Utah has been around since 1986 and today they depend on volunteers to provide compassionate programs that give people hope for the life they want to live. You can volunteer year-round to help sort donations, mentor youth, host a donation drive, or cook and serve a meal. To learn more visit voaut.org.

SelectHealth recognizes the hope provided by Volunteers of America Utah as another example of how Utah Gives Back.
