SALT LAKE CITY — New restrictions for visitors are already in place at facilities run by Intermountain Health Care.  Officials with IHC say the restrictions are modeled from guidance originating with the Centers for Disease Control and the Utah Department of Health.  The restrictions are designed to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

IHC Restrictions

IHC officials are asking anyone who is sick to please not visit or accompany a patient and to not enter any facility unless you are seeking care for yourself.  The new policy limits two visitors or companions of a patient at an Intermountain Hospital.

They say visitors under 18 are strongly discouraged from visiting and no visitors are allowed to patients who have confirmed or possibly have COVID-19.

They also remind visitors to please wash their hands or use alcohol sanitizer before and after leaving a patient’s room and a facility.
