SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — The Summit County Health Department announced all restaurants within the county must operate “curbside delivery only.” The health department will begin issuing formal notices with these changes Sunday, March 15.
This means restaurants cannot offer inside dining and guests can only call to place orders. Payments must also be completed over the phone, as in-person payments will not be allowed.
In addition, third-party delivery services such as Uber Eats and Door Dash will be prohibited.
Once these notices are issued, Summit County restaurants will be given 48 hours to comply.
This comes after four cases have been confirmed in the county, as well as the first community-spread case in the state.
Summit County Health Officer Dr. Rich Bullough said, “We can’t emphasize enough the priority to still make food available. Curbside take-out or drive-thru food service is permitted, but third-party food delivery services are prohibited. Following these orders will contribute to slowing the spread of COVID-19 cases in our community.”
Additionally, the Park City Transit system will move to Spring service levels, and no new special event permits will be issued.
Although the order expires on April 16, 2020, which is 30 days after the effective date of March 17, 2020, Summit County Health Officer will re-evaluate this order in fourteen days after the date of expiration.
