SALT LAKE CITY — A second Salt Lake City councilmember has tested positive for COVID-19. Dan Dugan, who represents District Six says he is quarantining at home and feels fine, showing only minor symptoms. Dugan says 13 days ago, after believing he was exposed to the virus and showing mild symptoms, he immediately self-isolated.
“I’m feeling fine and only showed minor symptoms after a possible exposure to the virus. So, I’m glad I tested when I could for the health and safety of my family and those around me, and my workplace,” said Dugan, who represents District Six. “I cannot stress enough how important it is to take precautionary measures, including workplace safety.”
He is the second Salt Lake City councilmember to test positive. District Five representative Darin Mano says he believes he was exposed during a trip to Washington, DC in early March. Five other council members were on that trip and have all consulted with physicians and all members are currently taking precautions and following guidance from federal, state and local health authorities.
The City Council urges residents to listen for local government information. Members will meet remotely and will include online participation by council members and the public.
