WEST JORDAN, Utah — The wife of the man accused of killing a West Jordan couple has been arrested after she allegedly helped him escape according to court documents.

Police say that 29-year-old Sina Johnson was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on Monday night on felony charges of obstruction of justice and tampering with evidence.

Her husband, 31-year-old Albert Enoch Johnson, is the “person of interest” in the double homicide of Tony and Katherine Butterfield who were killed on Saturday.

Officers say that the 29-year-old  “withheld the whereabouts of the homicide suspect and falsified her recounts of what occurred and her involvement.”

Police also say that she was planning to buy a plane ticket to Arizona and “has already aided the homicide suspect in fleeing.”

Sergeant J.C. Holt with the West Jordan Police Department said Johnson has a criminal history in California and his department is asking for the help of anyone who has information about Johnson’s whereabouts.

“We do believe that the Butterfields were absolutely true victims in this,” Holt said. “They did not have any role in this. We do not believe there was any criminal activity on their part or anything like.”

Johnson was last seen driving a dark grey Toyota Corolla with black wheels and Utah plate V46 4MW. Police believe he may be injured and may have knife wounds on his arms or legs.

Anyone with information on Albert Johnson’s whereabouts was asked to police at 801-840-4000.
