SALT LAKE CITY– The first in the series of free COVID-19 testing events, aimed at testing minority populations in Utah, is taking place on Saturday, May 9.
Testing will be available at the Utah State Fairpark from 1-7 PM.
The free COVID-19 testing is offered to anyone who pre-registers and makes an appointment, regardless of symptoms.
Utah’s six minority lawmakers, with the help from health partners and state and local resources, organized the COVID Community Partnership to help slow the spread of the virus in marginalized communities.
People of color in Utah are disproportionally affected by the pandemic. Over 40% of Utah’s positive cases of coronavirus have included members of Utah’s Hispanic/Latino, Black/African American, Asian Americans, Pacific Islander/Native Hawaiians, and American Indian/Alaska Native communities.
The testing will take 5-10 minutes Pre-registration is required in order to be tested.
