AMBER Alert canceled in Duchesne County missing child case

FRUITLAND, Utah — The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Department issued, then canceled shortly afterward, an AMBER Alert Wednesday evening as they searched for a four-year-old child. 

Deputies did not offer further details in canceling the alert, except to say the “subject” had been located. 

Utah agencies must meet certain criteria to issue an AMBER Alert. Those criteria include: 

• Is this believed to be a child abduction?
• Is the child 17 years of age or younger?
• Is the victim believed to be facing imminent danger, serious bodily injury or death?
• Is there information that could assist the public in the safe recovery of the victim or the apprehension of a suspect?

The AMBER Alert from Duchesne County included a description of a possible suspect and a vehicle, as well as a potential four-year-old child victim.
