Imagine you live in the world where people rarely speak or write your language. You’re trying to get information about taxes, healthcare, and other community resources, but understand…very little. Almost 14% of Utahns are Hispanic, that’s 1 out of 7 people.

Centro Hispano empowers Hispanics to have equal access to the information and resources they need to strengthen individuals, families, and communities through education and skill building activities.

They strive to build a network of support that addresses the educational, health, financial, and informational needs of our community. They started with English as a second language class and now have expanded to services that include walk-in consultations, free adult education classes, legal assessments, low-income taxpayer assistance, and health promotion and wellness activities.

Centro Hispano also hosts annual community events that promote cross-cultural understanding. They are located in Provo and serve those in the surrounding areas. To learn more, please visit centrohispanouc.org.

SelectHealth recognizes the cultural understanding of Centro Hispano as another example of how Utah Gives Back.
