SALT LAKE CITY— “Well, we’re very grateful for everyone’s patience,” says Deseret Industries Store Director Justin Hansen, chuckling, “we’re excited to share we’ve begun a phased reopening.  It’s reopening with some changes.  Most of the thrift stores are open for both donating AND shopping.

You just won’t be able to take those old toys that just fell off the top shelf right to the store, right now.  Hansen explained on Jeff Caplan’s Afternoon News on KSL Newsradio, “Donations are appointment only.  You can schedule them through [the website.]”  Hansen said the DI is also currently not taking mattresses and box springs.

Desert Industries has 44 stores across the West. 17 stores reopened this week, 8 more will open tomorrow, and all Utah stores are slated to be open by June 9th.  To see if your closest store is open and to make a donation appointment, go to Deseret Industries website
