The hashtag #AllBirthdaysMatter began trending on Twitter Sunday to honor former president Barack Obama — on the day of President Donald Trump’s birthday.

Several phrases began trending along with the hashtag — including #ObamaDayJune14th and #ObamaAppreciationDay — with several celebrities and politicians joining in with the trend. Actor George Takei, known for his roles in Star Trek and Mulan, tweeted the hashtag early Sunday writing, “Oh, how you are missed, Mr. President,” referring to Obama.

He then asked his followers to flood Twitter with responses on what they miss most about the 44th president.

Takei also took to Twitter to write he would wish President Trump a happy birthday, “but after all, #AllBirthdaysMatter.”

The #AllBirthdaysMatter hashtag is a direct criticism of the phrase “All Lives Matter,” used in response to the Black Lives Matter Movement — which has reignited in recent days after the death of George Floyd in police custody.

Other Twitter users posted the hashtag to honor the lives of those who have died after encounters with the police, including George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Tamir Rice. One Twitter user wrote, “They had birthdays to celebrate too.”

Several of President Trump’s supporters were also active on Twitter Sunday to celebrate the president’s birthday with the hashtag #HappyBirthdayTrump — which was also trending on the social media platform. The president retweeted some of those tweets on his personal account.

However, he has not yet responded publicly to the trending hashtags honoring Obama.
