The lesser-visited section of the famous Zion National Park is twenty-one minutes south of Cedar City. But with the entrance to the visitor’s center right off the freeway, this area is incredibly easy to access. The scenery on the six-mile road is incredible. The Middle Fork of Taylor Creek is the most recommended hike, but you can also hike the Timbercreek trail. It’s only a 1 mile out and back hike and is perfect if you don’t have a lot of time.

This hike is short, easy to get to, and is just awesome! What is a Bristlecone Pine you ask? They are some of the oldest living super resilient pine trees in the world. To give you an idea of how old and how resilient these pine are, one of the pines on this trail is about 4,500 years old. This trail is only 0.6 miles long and is kid and dog-friendly!
