In 1988, because of a lack of oxygen at birth, Matthew Robison was born with several disabilities; he was blind, mostly paralyzed, and spoke only a few words. He lived ten years and during that time the Robison family learned that many people with disabilities were in need of, but unable to afford, the assistive equipment they needed.

To address this, they created Ability Found, an organization providing people with disabilities with much-needed equipment such as wheelchairs, scooters, bathroom apparatus, and much more. Through their network of partners, Ability Found provides mobility and adaptive equipment at low and, in some cases, no cost. Those in need can apply through their healthcare provider and once approved each client will be fitted with the equipment needed and trained on how to use it.

They facilitate independence, productivity, safety, opportunity, and dignity. They are only able to sustain this critical service with your support. To learn more and donate, please visit abilityfound.org.

SelectHealth recognizes the improved independence provided by Ability Found as another example of how Utah Gives Back.
