SALT LAKE CITY — We remember the shortage of toilet paper. We all know that Clorox wipes are worth their weight in gold! But now, COVID-19 is responsible for yet another shortage: Dr. Pepper.
The 23 flavored fizzy beverage has struggled to stay on store shelves over the last month or so, but the company says hang tight:
“We know it’s harder to find Dr. Pepper these days. We’re working on it,” they wrote on Twitter this week.
We know it’s harder to find Dr Pepper these days. We’re working on it – hang tight!

“We’re doing everything we can to get it back into your hands. That means working with our distribution partners to keep shelves stocked nationwide while ensuring the safety of our employees.”
Responding to the tweet about the Dr. Pepper shortage, toilet paper brand Charmin said, “Welcome to the club. we feel your pain.”

The shortage of Dr. Pepper and other canned beverages could also be blamed on a shortage of aluminum cans.
A spokeswoman for Coke recently told 11Alive with the increase in sales of at-home multi-pack products, it’s harder to get cans to put their drinks in.
“Aluminum cans are in very tight supply with so many people buying more multi-pack products to consume at home. We are implementing contingency plans as best we can to get the products people want to store shelves. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we work through these unprecedented times of high demand for our products.”
