TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — A motorcyclist died after crashing into a parked car in Taylorsville early Friday morning, according to police. The man was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The Unified Police Department responded to a traffic alert around 1:50 a.m. after reports that a motorcycle collided with a parked car on 3200 West. According to  Lt. Paul Barker, the crash was impactful enough to push the car down the street.

The man was riding with another motorcyclist at the time of the crash. It’s unclear whether the two were riding side-by-side, but police say the other motorcyclist is cooperating with the investigation.

Police are working to reconstruct the crash to understand the full details. Officials say they won’t release identifying information of the victim until the family has been notified.
