WASHINGTON — Eric Trump, the son of President Donald Trump, and Rudy Giuliani, the president’s personal lawyer, say the Trump campaign is suing to stop the vote count in Pennsylvania over concerns about ‘transparency,’ the Associated Press reported Wednesday.

The announcement came hours after the campaign filed suit in Michigan. In both cases, campaign officials say they were blocked from observing the ballot counting as closely as they’d like.

Poll watching and electoral observations are not new; however, rules are in place to govern the process to ensure no one has undue influence over the results.

Another concern the Trump campaign has is the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s decision to allow mail-in ballots to arrive after Election Day as long as the ballot was postmarked by Nov. 3. Pennsylvania Republicans tried to block the ruling but the state’s Supreme Court declined to expedite the case before the election. However, the court did leave the door open for a possible hearing on the subject.

Michigan and Pennsylvania’s results remain delayed as of Wednesday afternoon with a number of ballots still outstanding in both states.
