Head Start is a federally funded preschool program that promotes school readiness to children from low-income families by supporting the development of the whole child. Social and emotional well-being in early childhood predicts favorable behavioral and academic adjustments as children get older.

There are Head Start programs all over Utah including Davis Head Start. They use Creative Curriculum that promotes daily routines and meaningful experiences that respond to children’s strengths, interests, and needs. They reach beyond the scope of school readiness by providing comprehensive education, health, nutrition, and family services to children and their families.

Head Start is offered to children birth to five years old and pregnant women. All services are offered at no charge. The benefits of this service appear immediately, last a lifetime, and have an effect on generations to come. To learn more about Head Start or to find a location near you, visit UHSA.org.

SelectHealth recognizes the healthy influence of Davis Head Start as another example of how Utah Gives Back.
