SALT LAKE CITY — A Union Pacific railroad engine exploded early Saturday morning in Echo Canyon.
North Summit Fire reports that they assisted Uinta County Fire and Ambulance with the call that came in at 3:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
Officials report that nobody was injured in the blast.
Later in the day on Saturday, the same first responders assisted Summit County EMS after a semi reportedly drove off of the freeway. A spokesman for the Utah Highway Patrol told KSL Newsradio this happened on westbound I-84 near Echo.
The semi jackknifed before sliding off the road, due to an equipment issue according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
There were no injuries.
