Sexual violence impacts all facets of our community. In 1974 a small group of volunteers initiated a local community rape awareness program. It has since grown into a robust nonprofit to empower those victimized by sexual violence through advocacy, crisis intervention, and therapy and to educate the community about the cause, impact, and prevention of sexual violence.

They assist nearly 500 survivors annually and their 24-hour crisis line continues to be a resource to about 1,500 callers per year. They offer personal support, short- and long-term counseling, and an array of therapy and groups, serving over 1,000 clients annually. Additionally, they offer outreach and educational programs to community members by teaching primary prevention trainings.

They work toward the day when sexual violence is part of our history, rather than a part of our daily life. You can learn more or donate to the center by visiting RapeRecoveryCenter.org.
