SALT LAKE CITY — An incoming storm is expected to bring with it a few inches of snow accumulation throughout the day, which could lead to some morning issues with the commute.
KSL Meteorologist Grant Weyman said this storm is expected to drop snow across the Wasatch front, with more accumulation at higher elevations.
“The higher up we go the more snow we will expect, Park City could see 3 or 4 inches of snow, in the mountains there could be up to 8,9, 10 inches of snow, so a decent storm here for our Friday.”
Grant says the valleys won’t be left out either, by this afternoon he expects anywhere from 1-3 inches.
This storm will also affect the morning commute as the storm makes its way south.
UDOT says it is already seeing snow starting to stick in the upper areas of both Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons and that the plows are out. They have also issued a Road Weather Alert for most of the main roads in northern Utah.
That alert covers I-15 north of Provo, I-80 from Salt Lake to the Wyoming Border, both Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons, Sardine Canyon as well as others.
