SPANISH FORK, Utah — A group of Utahns was expected to leave the Spanish Fork airport on Tuesday morning for Jeddito, Arizona located on a portion of the Navajo Nation’s reservation in that state.
The helicopter was full of supplies, including cleaning supplies intended for a town that’s been hard hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The group will also deliver hundreds of water bottles with filters.
Leta Greene, the founder of the group, has made the trip before and told KSL TV reporter Andrew Adams that she feels her efforts are gaining steam from others online.
“I can’t think of anything I’ve done that’s been so consistently rewarding, and especially in a time of pandemic, that’s brought me peace,” she told Adams.
The helicopter and the trip to Jeddito were donated by York Galland who told KSL TV that the trip was a good opportunity to connect with a group of people who are really struggling.
