Students embrace Choose Kindness Month

Jeff Shirley, principal of Mount Mahogany Elementary School, said his students eagerly took part.

“We have been proud to participate with other Pleasant Grove schools in celebrating ‘Choose Kindness Month,’ and it has been a great success so far,” Shirley said.

This week, students participated in a ‘heart attack’ opportunity to show their appreciation for the Pleasant Grove Police Department and Pleasant Grove Fire Department.

“We did this to express our sincere gratitude for all they do to protect and serve us,” Shirley said.

Say thank you to our local service people— your mail man, a police officer, a firefighter. Gratitude goes a long way for people who do so much for us!

Area residents, including students at Pleasant Grove High School and Junior High, participated in a shoe drive and put up yard signs to thank health care workers, in addition to participating in daily “kindness prompts” through the social campaign.

The campaign continues through the end of the month with suggested acts of kindness shared daily on Facebook
