SALT LAKE CITY — Puppies and kittens could be less of a common sight in Utah pet stores if The House Business and Labor Committee decides to move forward with a bill that would bar pet stores from selling cats and dogs.
Pet stores would still be able to display animals, but only if they are adoptable through a nonprofit organization or a public shelter and not sold by the store itself.
The house Business and Labor Committee will debate the bill Tuesday morning.
