Salt Lake City Public Library system reopening for services

The Main Library in Salt Lake City is pictured on Monday, Sept. 21, 2020.

SALT LAKE CITY — For the first time in a year, the Salt Lake City Public Library system will be reopening for services and let people inside again.

The library says starting Monday, Mar. 15, 2021, they will reopen for “Express Services” as part of the Yellow Stage of their Reopening plan.

Every Salt Lake City Library location will reopen for express services with the exception of the Sprague Firehouse Express. That location will remain closed, but still offer curbside pickup.

For the rest of the city library locations, access to the computers, holds pickup and limited browsing and reference assistance will start on Monday.

The library says throughout their reopening its mask and social distancing policy will continue to be enforced at all Salt Lake City library locations.

How To Prevent the Spread of COVID-19 Coronavirus

COVID-19 coronaviruses transmitted from person to person. It is a virus that is similar to the common cold and the flu. So, to prevent it from spreading:

  • Wash hands frequently and thoroughly, with soap and water, for at least 20 seconds.
  • Wear a mask.
  • Don’t touch your face.
  • Keep children and those with compromised immune systems away from someone who is coughing or sneezing (in this instance, at least six feet)
  • If there is an outbreak near you, practice social distancing (stay at home, instead of going to the movies, sports events, or other activities.)
  • Get a flu shot.
