LOGAN, Utah — With donations down significantly, Jump the Moon studio in Logan has to find a new place to operate. So this week, KSL TV reporter Mike Anderson says workers began taking down art installations that had turned empty walls into a display case.
According to its webpage, Jump the Moon art studio and gallery offers “art-making opportunities to individuals with disabilities.” More specifically, they provide what they call assistive art-making devices that help people to more fully express themselves.
A lack of operating funds has forced owner Michael Bingham to take the artwork down and put his art-making tools into donated storage space, until another opportunity comes around.
Bingham said he doesn’t want to quit, and that he’s confident of a new gallery space opening up. And there’s already light on the horizon, as Bingham says the Cache Valley Center for the Arts in Logan has made some space available for his clients.
