SALT LAKE CITY — As stimulus checks begin to be distributed the Utah Commerce Department says scammers will attempt to rip people off with anticipated stimulus checks.
“Identity theft” and “imposter scams” topped the list of frauds committed in 2020 according to the Federal Trade Commission.
If you qualify for a stimulus check, nothing needs to be done to claim it. It will either be a direct deposit or come in the mail as a check or pre-paid debit card.
