SALT LAKE CITY — Winter-like driving conditions on Sunday morning were part of the reason that three vehicles operated by the Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) were it by drivers.

The UHP was also busy responding to accidents caused by dangerous driving conditions.

Two accidents involving troopers happened on the I-15 freeway, one at 7200 South and the other at 500 South according to UHP Trooper Vargas.  One of these crashes resulted in a minor injury to the trooper.

Overnight and early morning rain and snow created ice on most of the bridges in the Salt Lake Valley and troopers were called to work “multiple crashes,” the UHP tweeted.

Early Sunday morning the National Weather Service reported that less than an inch of snow had fallen at the Salt Lake City International Airport.
