This bridge is part of a two-bridge building process to make it safer for recreational activities.

The bridge is the second to be constructed in replacing an old one that sat near 7900 South and 1100 West for decades. The first bridge project started earlier this year near 7200 South and 1100 West.

Crews removed the old, small bridge and built a box culvert with an asphalt trail just to the west.

The second new Jordan River trail bridge is 24,000 pounds and traveled more than 1,000 miles from Wheeler Lumber in Minnesota to West Jordan.

According to the media release by Mayor Burton, it took a large crane and several construction crew members to construct the bridge.

These two new Jordan River bridges will make the Jordan River Trail a safer place for residents and visitors to recreate.
