These school districts will not require masks for the final week of this school year

A number of Utah school districts already say they plan to do away with the requirement for masks for the last week of school.
As soon as Gov. Spencer Cox announced that school districts would not have to require students and staff to wear masks during the final week of the 2020-2021 school year, several districts announced their plans to ditch the mask requirement for that week. They include:
- Canyons
- Davis
- Granite
- Provo
- Nebo
- Iron County
- Juab County
The Salt Lake City School District sent a note to parents indicating it was considering the change, while Alpine District told the Daily Herald it was thinking about it as well, but so far, no announcement has been made.
Next week, May 17-24, is the final week of the school year for many districts. For others, it’s after Memorial Day, June 1-4.
This story will be updated as more school districts announce their plans for masks.
