SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah — A chain-reaction crash early Thursday morning knocked out power to some businesses and brought power lines down on three cars.

South Salt Lake Police say the crash happened around 1 a.m. near 2350 South 900 West. That’s just south of the 900 West on and off-ramps to SR-201.

One driver crashed into the power pole and the lines came down and hit three other cars. The driver that crashed ran off.

Thankfully the other drivers of the other cars were not injured and were able to get out of their cars safely.

The power was knocked out to two customers, which are businesses. Power crews had to bring big trucks to string the lines back across the road.

Crews restored power just before 7:30 a.m.
