Fireworks officially go on sale Thursday, June 24 in Utah. But you cannot legally light them until July 2.
The window is July 2-5, July 22-25, and December 31-January 1.
Fireworks stands and pop-up tents have been setting up in advance of the first day of sales. But some vendors have faced shortages due to the pandemic and supply chain disruptions. They say they may sell out quickly.
And this year fireworks are banned in several more places.

Anyone who discharges a firework outside of the legal dates or in a restricted area could face a class B misdemeanor.
And if you are found responsible for starting a wildfire, you could face fines and fees related to suppression costs.
Gov. Spencer Cox has said he does not have the authority to issue a statewide ban on fireworks, even under a state of emergency. But several counties and cities are issuing their own restrictions. Provo has asked people to go to certain parks, and be cautious.
With the hot and dry summer, Gov Cox said maybe buy them from a small business owner, but then store them til the next window when it is safe to light them.
