NORTH LOGAN, Utah — One person is dead after the crash of a small plane into a home in North Logan Saturday evening.

The Cache County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the crash of the plane at 2195 Meadow Lark Lane, near 2300 North and 3000 East in North Logan, shortly after it happened at 8:30 p.m. The Federal Aviation Administration identified the plane as a single-engine SeaRey LSX.

The neighborhood where the plane went down backs up to the mountainside, with the hillside rising just behind the homes.

According to North Park police, only one person was on board the plane. Medical personnel pronounced that person dead on the scene.

Chief Ulysses Black told KSL the plane, a small aircraft designed for one or two people, crashed into the back of the residence. No one was inside at the time.

The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
