Utah heat records could be set in the south and north

ST. GEORGE, Utah — The forecast shows Utah weekend heat records are possible and temperatures could be as high as 114 degrees in parts of southern Utah. This would set new record highs for July 10 and July 11 in St. George, according to The Spectrum.
There is an excessive heat warning in effect for lower Washington County through 9 p.m. Sunday.
The temperature remains above 110 degrees until Monday, cooling slightly to 106 by Tuesday. There is also a small chance of showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
The highest temperature of 117 degrees in St. George was recorded on July 5, 1985.
Weekend heat records possible in Northern Utah
Temperatures along the Wasatch Front are set to reach triple-digits through Tuesday.
After two days above 100 degrees, we could challenge the longest streak of triple-digit days set in 2003.
