Home under renovation in Roy catches fire, $350K in damages

ROY, Utah — A home under renovation in Roy caught fire early Saturday morning.

 

The Roy City Fire Department Marshall, Leroy Gleichmann, told KSL Newsradio they received a call around 5:30 a.m. When firefighters arrived on the scene at 5342 South Vista Drive, flames had burned through the roof.

Gleichmann said there were no injuries and that the fire was extinguished quickly.

One adjacent home was damaged due to heat from the flames.

The single-family dwelling was being renovated and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Gleichmann said the home is valued at near $350,000, and that the loss is estimated to be the same amount.
