SALT LAKE CITY — Flash flooding that swamped streets and homes across northern Utah also flooded Primary Children’s Hospital, where cleanup continues Monday.
A statement from the hospital provided to KSL NewsRadio says the facility canceled non-emergency surgeries on Monday as a result.
According to a spokesperson, the flooding forced the hospital to relocate some patients from the west side of the building to other areas.
The hospital still plans to accept patients today, but they said patients could be redirected as those cleanup efforts continue.
A spokesperson said temporary roof drains became overwhelmed in heavy rains Sunday night, leading to the flooding.
