Did you know that almost 17,000 students do not know where their next meal will come from and that more than 1,200 children are experiencing homelessness in the Davis School District? Children cannot learn when they are hungry or do not have a safe place to shower, do laundry, study, or access resources. The Davis Education Foundation aims to remove barriers for their students by providing programs to address these challenges.

They are currently building Drop-in centers where those experiencing homelessness can attend to basic needs. They also partner with surrounding organizations to make Davis County a “No Hunger Zone” to provide food for students in need.

They expand the walls of their classrooms by providing experiences, equipment, and resources that will improve academic and personal success. Each year, they serve over 70,000 students in 91 schools, if you would like to help, visit daviseducationfoundation.org.

SelectHealth recognizes the foundational resources provided by the Davis Education Foundation as another example of how Utah Gives Back.
