SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — The wet and cold weather that came through Utah earlier this week produced snow in some of the higher elevations in the state.

Among the areas that saw snow was in the Uinta Mountains, specifically Mirror Lake.

While the snow was only a small amount, it was still pretty interesting to see in August.

“It snowed pretty good for maybe about 30 minutes,” said Marc Lorenzo to KSL-TV. “It kind of let up, but it was cool to see.”

The elevation near Mirror Lake is at 10,000 feet. So seeing snow in August isn’t exactly the rarest of things.

“I got up here about 10:30ish,” Lorenzo said. “And I ate lunch and it snowed pretty good for 30 minutes.”

Near the Summit and Duchesne county border, snow flurries were seen for much of Thursday.
