SALT LAKE CITY — An unknown number of teachers were possibly exposed to COVID-19 at a district-wide meeting last week.

The Salt Lake City School District said most of its teachers were wearing masks at the training class held at Highland High School, but face coverings were optional. The district also said most of its teachers are fully vaccinated.

The district did not give a specific number of teachers that may have been exposed, or in which schools they teach.

Not all possibly exposed to COVID-19 must quarantine

Per Salt Lake County Health Department guidelines, teachers who are fully vaccinated and exposed to COVID-19 are able to continue teaching with a mask. However, teachers who are not fully vaccinated will be required to quarantine.

The Salt Lake City School District said no students were in attendance at the meeting.
