Fire breaks out at Oak Grove Campground in Washington County

Update: 6:50 p.m.

The Oak Grove fire is now at 200 acres. An unattended campfire was the cause of the fire.

Update: 5:55 p.m.

The Oak Grove Fire has grown to 15-20 acres. The fire was human-caused. The investigation is on-going. A Type 3 IMT has been ordered to manage the incident due to increased complexity. Four crews, seven smoke jumpers, and a Type 3 helicopter are also responding to the wildfire.

Washington County, UTAH — Washington County announced through Facebook a new active fire near the Oak Grove Campground.

The campground has been closed for fire-fighting operations and they have asked the public to stay clear of the area.
