SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Public Lands Department is seeking the public’s assistance in the recovery of 30 wayfinding and trail designation signs.
These signs have disappeared from the Foothills Natural Area. The signs are 6 feet tall and 4 inches wide. Additionally, the signs are driven 1 to 2 feet into the ground.
The signs are critical to individuals, allowing them to navigate the trail system and protect the surrounding environment. The signs also provide important information about which trails are for hikers, and which are for bikers.
The department is making every effort to get the signs replaced as soon as possible. It is recommended, however, that individuals plan ahead on their next adventure to the Foothills.
The department is working with the Salt Lake City Police Department to discover who is responsible. There has also been signs of vandalism. In addition, several hundred feet of fencing has been knocked down.
