SYRACUSE, Utah — A house fire Sunday afternoon in Syracuse has displaced three individuals and claimed the life of a dog.

Crews were called to a structure fire at 1395 David Circle just before 1 p.m., according to Aaron Byington of the Syracuse Fire Department.

“When our crews arrived, they saw smoke and flames coming from the garage,” Byington said. “It was pretty well involved at that point.”

Byington says it took 27 firefighters from five agencies an hour to put the fire out.

The three individuals in the home were able to get out without injury. Byington said the estimated cost of the damage from the fire is about $200,000.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
