An Arches National Park ranger is talking about her experience talking to Gabby Petito in Moab, including giving her a warning about her relationship with her fiancé.

Melissa Hulls spoke exclusively to the Deseret News. She is the visitor and resource protection supervisor at Arches.

The park ranger told reporter Kyle Dunphey she heard the call over her radio when Moab police stopped Gabby Petito and Brian Laundries. In turn, Dunphey spoke about his conversation with Hulls on Utah’s Morning News on KSL NewsRadio.

She focused on Petito in case she felt more comfortable talking to another woman.

Hulls said she warned Gabby that her relationship with Brian Laundrie seemed toxic. She says she tried to advise her to re-evaluate things, and that this could be an opportunity to find another path.

But sometimes wonders if she could have done more.
