SALT LAKE CITY — The Outdoor Retailer Show might be looking to leave Denver, and Utah Governor Spencer Cox said they should come back to Salt Lake City.

Cox released a video talking about the reasons they should come back.

“We invite you back, and we’ll take great care of you,” he said.

He addressed the issues that seem to have driven the trade show away in 2017.

“We are working with key stakeholders in the Department of the Interior to establish sustainable ways to manage Bears Ears National Monument, and other cherished public lands,” he said in the message.

The governor also outlined in the video the different ways Utah has improved, like the new airport and new convention center hotel.

The Outdoor Retailer Show could be looking to come back to Salt Lake City and Utah when the contract is up in 2022 with Denver.

Attendees and companies told the Deseret News that Denver is a more expensive venue and that they don’t like how far away the mountains and outdoor activities are from downtown.
