Disney has announced a delay in the release dates for a number of its upcoming movies, meaning Marvel fans will have to wait a little longer to explore the new multiverse.

In an announcement on Monday, Marvel Studios announced the shift in release dates. That will push the next movies in the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe back by a number of months. Since the studio has woven each of these movies into each other, pushing one of them back means that they likely have to move the rest of them as well.

The new Marvel movie schedule after delay

  • Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness
    May 6, 2022 (moved from March 25, 2022)
  • Thor: Love and Thunder
    July 8, 2022 (moved from May 6, 2022)
  • Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
    Nov. 11, 2022 (moved from July 8, 2022)
  • The Marvels
    Feb. 17, 2023 (moved from Nov. 11, 2022)
  • Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania
    July 28, 2023 (moved from February 17, 2023)

Not everything MCU is getting delayed, though. Disney also announced that the next Disney+ series to focus on one of its main protagonists will now release with two episodes to start the show.

‘See you at the movies’ Marvel teases Phase 4 group of films

The Christmas-themed “Hawkeye” will launch with the first two episodes on November 24th — a move many speculate will allow for the 6 part series to end before Christmas.

Other delays coming to Disney

The MCU isn’t the only thing affected by this delay, though. As reported by Variety, a still-untitled fifth Indiana Jones film is going to see a push back of almost a year from July 29, 2022 to June 30, 2023.

Earlier this year, the 79-year-old Harrison Ford suffered a shoulder injury that pushed him out of production.
