SALT LAKE CITY — The Canyons School District is returning to “Remote-Learning Fridays.” Remote learning will start back up on Nov. 5th, to allow time for family members to adjust their schedules.

Students are encouraged to study during that time and will be provided learning materials. Teachers will be in the classroom planning and working with students individually.

The current plan will run for six Fridays. Administrators are preparing for an additional five Fridays to be used for independent study.

The goal of remote learning is to give a break to school staff who are feeling worn out and to avoid burn out. The transition to a hybrid of remote and in-person learning comes after shortages in substitute teachers and increasing rate of student absences.
